January 2009~ Happy New Year!
Happy New Year everyone! Where did that year go? What a whirlwind the holidaze have been and I just hate to think about taking down the Christmas tree already! It is so beautiful this year!
Lot's of fun stuff on the horizon. There is a brand new selling venue for artists called 1000 Markets and I have opened up a shop there, Tink's Atomic Universe . It is a beautiful site with some incredible artwork. I recommend it highly!
I've got lots of new fabric for Atomic Fez's and both Skeetie and I worked up an insert for the packaging. It's perfect and made me laugh so any Atomic Fez purchase will include this little 'instructional' insert.
I've been working on new Third Eye pieces and they will be listed shortly. We took a trek into NYC recently where I was able to stock up on tons of vintage jewelry findings, pieces and gems for the Third Eyes so look for many new ones to appear. The new Raja Vision will blow your mind.
Jinx Proof is all settled into their newly renovated space and I spent Christmas Eve day over there with my boys. I'll be back soon for a fun piece Eric is working on for me. I can hardly wait! After that we'll finish up the right (low brow gallery) arm and start the tiki one!

So far we have had two snowstorms and another on the horizon January 2nd. In fact, it is snowing as I write this! It's going to be a LONG Winter, I think. Thank goodness for Skeet's new heavy duty snowblower. That will make things much easier for him.
I got alot of unique, hard to find Botanica stuff from my mom for Yule so the altar is looking really wonderful and festive. I love the way it looks when I dim the lights and have all the candles going. I think a home altar is an absolute must! I took a little Botanica San Santiago trip today in the driving snow and it was brutally cold out there! The Botanica, however, was cozy, warm and smelling oh so magical. Skeet, also, took me to the Newark Botanica a few weeks ago and it was GREAT!
I am already looking forward to Spring. I long to be outside at the flea markets. Meanwhile I continue antiquing and thrift shopping finding new haunts all the time. It is way too much fun digging through the old stuff to see what treasure you may find. I've been a flea market freak since I was a little kid when my dad would take me to all the huge outdoor fleas back in the day.
I recently got the complete Carnevale series on DVD and have been watching those. It was one of my all time favorite shows. Very Lynchian in look and feel and just full of creepy, chilling fantasy. Speaking of David Lynch, I have watched the Elephant Man again after several years and the film is just amazing (as is the soundtrack) If you have loved this flick and don't own it, grab it quick on Amazon as it is now out of print. I am also reading a book called the True History of the Elephant Man by Michael Howard and Peter Ford. A VERY interesting and heart wrenching story!
I've gotten some great new books on low brow art including Kustom Graphics by Korero Publishing (which I also gave to Eric & Skeet for Yule, I was that impressed with it!) and Workshop of Filthy Creation: The Art of Johnny Ace and Kali Verra which Eric is using now to create my next ink piece. Another fabulous book I have gotten lately is Atomic Kitchen by Brian Alexander. Every one of these books is amazing.
I think that will about cover it for now! Time has blown by so fast for me I am under pressure at the moment to get everything done. I hope your Holidaze were a blast and that you are all geared up for the New Year! This month's tune is the beautiful 'Helpless' from the CD Twelve by Patti Smith.
Wishing you a magical 2009 filled with health, wealth, happiness, love & laughter!
I'd like to thank all of you for your magical Holiday cards! Lorine, Thief & Amythyst sent me their own beautiful special designed cards and I especially love all the photo cards from Eric & Michelle, Kathy, Kim, Maria, Liz and Zeezle!! Happy New Year!
Love you all ~
