January 2010 Happy New Year!
Wow! What a year it has been! So many things have happened this year and so many wonderful people have wandered into my life!
Creating the music room and the Atomic Vinyl Zombie Lounge was very fun and alot of work but OH, so worth it and the little family of tight knit Zombies we have is spectacular!
We celebrated the entire Yule season in typically over the top Zombie fashion with vintage decor, music and many wonderful videos. A special thanks and love to my Zombies for all the magical gifts you gave me and all of the incredible Christmas music CD's etc. Who knows what heights we'll hit in 2010! All of you made my 50th birthday unforgettable, as well!
Thanks to Craig, the Record King and Raymond for being 2 of my best friends, to Burton for making me laugh and buying my Hoodoos, Manic Mark for keeping me sane, Jeannie for feeding me, and ALL of my Zombies for the great conversations, support and love each and every one of you emanate! What a FABULOUS universe we have created!
The 27th Annual Record King Holiday Bash was last Saturday and fun was had by all. You can see the footage from the party on You Tube and on Facebook at Craig's Friends of the Record King page. Lot's of people, music, singing, dancing and not even too bad to clean up! It took us longer to clean for the party than to clean up after!
The beautiful Atomic Voice of Music player that Junkman Don rebuilt the innards on and Skeet installed for me is fabulous but needs a new stylus and we are having a hard time finding one as the player dates from about 1958. Craig is trying, though. Love you, RC!
This year's trip to the Edison Museum, which was newly opened after 5 years of renovation, was spectacular and I plan to go back in April with Raymond. I am really looking forward to getting back there!
West Coast sister Diane will be taking a space at her local antiques mall and that is very exciting! I'll sell some of my higher end antiques through her. She's calling the space 'Pandora's Parlor' and I know it will be very magical! I can't WAIT! She'll be able to have the space to work on about January 10th.
The new semi pro video camera I have recently invested in should be rocking soon. Just have to learn how to use it and, believe me, not an easy feat when you consider the huge manual that came with it. You all know how I feel about manuals. I develope Attention Deficit Disorder after a few paragraphs.
On the Art Front, it is so magical to meet other artists and have them around you! Of course, my Inkman, Eric Newman, Manic Mark Betcher who made my remarkable Art Chair (I also have several other of his pieces around the music room), and most recently Pat.James Longo and his remarkable poster art, much of which would make superb tattoo pieces. Pat is also a heavy duty record collector and we both have an affinity for oddball music and pick things out of Craig's record stacks for him to list on Ebay.
As I write this, snow is falling quite heavily and it looks very pretty. Who knows how much we'll get and I have to go to Record King here shortly. It doesn't show signs of stopping!
Having lost my job in 2009 after 22 years at the same place has created, for me, some much needed time to indulge in a huge journey which has been so magical! But I could not have done it without all of you!
