September 2009
Happy Labor Day!

Here we are already in September! Where did that Summer go? But I do love the Fall. The turning leaves, Halloween and everything that goes along with the season! I noticed that all the stores have their Halloween displays going. I love it!

It's been a crazy month! First there was the heart attack scare and the hospital and doctor visits that went along with all that and that really messed up my plan of starting the music room and a bunch of other things I wanted to do. But now that I am feeling better and my blood pressure is somewhat under control (Dr. Tilson is still adjusting my meds) I have started the moving of the studio to the spare room and the studio space will become the music room! A couple of more weeks and it should be about finished...hopefully!

I've been finding some amazing records and stumbling upon wicked new machines to play them on like the Atomic 50's Westinghouse AND the beautiful Grundig Majestic console which me & my brother picked up in a monsoon with the rain letting up just long enough for us to get it out of the sellers house, home & into mine!! That was a fun bit of luck, for sure! My friend Bryan helped me get it perfectly functional and the sound quality on these old Grundig's is phenomenal!

As I can move the players into the music room I'll be happy to have them spread out. So far only the Grundig console is in here as it would be impossible for me to move later.

Labor Day is here already and that means the Antiques Street Fair in Rutherford that I must hit every year. They are calling for glorious weather this Labor Day so I am very happy about that! I can't wait to see what I find at that one! The weekend after that is the big record show which I can't wait to attend! Bryan and Raymond went to the one in Columbus and I was so yearning to be there when I saw the pics & video they did for me and what they found!!!

The weather has turned Fall-like practically overnight and as I sit out on the courtyard writing this I am freezing! A few days ago it was 94 degrees with major humidity. Odd how it can change so much, so fast! I am hoping this doesn't mean a bad Winter!

I am selling many studio supplies on Ebay so if you are assemblage artists take a peek at what's being offered. There is alot of very fun & useful stuff for the artist! Vaggio is going to love the new space where he can run around from the music room straight into the living room. It will be like one big open lounge. Very fun!

Bryan has my industrial Newcomb at the moment and he's working fervently on getting that thing in perfect working order. I love him for it! Teago and Fran bought a beautiful Peerless cabinet crank phono and I am very excited for them. Once you delve into this hobby, there's no turning back. You are hooked for life!

I've been spending many a lunch hour with my good bud Craig, the Record King! It's kinda dangerous having a record shop only 10 blocks from my office building but I am actually thankful for the tranquility it allows me in the middle of a hectic work day! I love Craig, he is great and he introduces me to other regulars and has me show them my music themed ink! HA! It's great fun, always, when I stop in there. I always find wicked records as well. I am thankful to have found such a place!! It's my weekday oasis. I need to get in there on a Saturday when I am not at all pressed for time!

It's kind of fun to be retired from the studio. I really need to relax and enjoy rather than working non stop. The heart attack scare made me realize this. I still have more tests to endure but most of them are already done. I have the Carotid Artery test in the beginning of October and then I think I will be test free for awhile!

I am really looking forward to the Fall and the glorious colors and weather. I hope it stays nice all through Labor Day for the Antiques fair! Skeet is selling the '26 Ford so if any of you will be at Lead East this weekend, you can look for him and BUY it! What a fabulous car! That is about all for now. I am under pressure to get this released. I have way too much going on right now! HUGE hugs out to my favorite buddies Bryan, Raymond & Cris and by the way Happy Birthday, Cris! We are the Fab Four.

Peace Out~ Tink
